Obama Conspires with Broadcast Networks to Control the News

Operation Fast and Furious weapons that were intentionally “walked” by ATF to Mexico were used in the murders of two Department of Homeland Security federal agents, a Border Patrol Agent and a Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent.

Yet the news that the House Oversight Committee will vote next week on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, for refusing to turn over subpoenaed documents in the Fast and Furious investigation, had been met with silence from the Big Three (ABC, NBC, CBS) network news shows. There was no mention of the Holder hearings on Monday’s evening news shows, and Tuesday’s morning and evening news network television broadcasts.

The news blackout of the Holder hearings and Fast and Furious coverage continues a stunning trend where the White House controls the liberal main stream media’s content. Since December 2010, when the Fast and Furious scandal first broke, there have been zero stories about the gunwalking scandal on NBC Nightly News and Today show. On ABC there was only one brief report aired on Good Morning America.

Only CBS has covered the story, mainly due to the work of one reporter, Sharyl Attkisson. Since Attkisson broke the gunwalking story, there have been a total of 30 full stories and 1 brief aired on CBS’s Evening News and This Morning programs.

But Attkisson’s stories on the gunwalking scandal have screeched to a halt.

According to Newsbusters, from February 4 through yesterday’s news there has been only one report (An Erica Hill brief on the May 3 This Morning) on the Fast and Furious controversy. It’s not as if Attkisson stopped paying attention, as she authored a story for CBSNews.com on Tuesday, but oddly her reporting did not make the air on that night’s CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.

The following brief, aired on the May 3, 2012 CBS This Morning, represents the sum total of stories by the Big 3 on the Fast and Furious scandal in over a month:

ERICA HILL: There is new information this morning in the Fast and Furious gunwalking operation, first exposed last year by our own Sharyl Attkisson. Sources tell CBS News that today lawmakers will take the first formal step toward charging Attorney General Eric Holder with contempt of Congress. Republicans on the House Oversight Committee accused Holder of obstructing their investigation. In Fast and Furious, U.S. officials allowed thousands of guns to flow from the U.S. into Mexico. Two of those guns were later found at the scene where a U.S. border patrol agent was murdered.

Yesterday Attorney General Eric Holder testified in a Senate hearing, rejecting a Republican call to resign. During a heated Senate hearing, Holder came under attack by Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Holder rejected accusations he was stonewalling congressional investigators on the botched “Fast and Furious” gun-running sting operation and failing to properly investigate recent leaks of classified information.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, leveled the harshest criticism by accusing Holder of misleading Congress over what he and other top Department of Justice officials knew about the Fast and Furious program and refusing to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate leaked national security details in recent media reports.

Holder smugly rested his head on one hand as Cornyn recited a litany of allegations involving the attorney general’s performance.

“I’m afraid we’ve come to an impasse,” Cornyn said, adding that Holder “violated the public trust” in his view. “With regret, you’ve left me with no choice but to join those who call for you to resign your office.”

Holder responded by calling Cornyn’s allegations “almost breathtaking” in their inaccuracies and said: “I don’t have any intention of resigning.”

If you watched any of the Network (ABC, CBS, NBC) evening news stories, you didn’t hear about this, as none of the three broadcast networks covered the hearing.  Instead, all three reported extensively on the chicken shit, politically motivated arrest of George Zimmerman’s wife for “perjury” during a telephone testimony in a bond hearing.

The broadcast networks come under the jurisdiction of the FCC, and the Obama White House is obviously calling the shots at all three evening news broadcast operations.  FOX does not broadcast an evening news show over the public airwaves but covered the Holder hearings in detail on FOX NEWS, leading off their prime time cable newscast with the Holder story.

As regular readers know, I’m a Libertarian, not a Republican. I believe in the Constitution and refuse to abandon it as the GOP has done numerous times in my lifetime.  The GOP has failed us in the past but it’s the Democrats lead by the likes of Obama, Pelosi and Dirty Harry Reid. In my opinion, which I’m free to express because of the Bill of Rights, the Democrats and Obama are engaging in a subversive conspiracy to destroy the Republic by controlling the press. Obama believes that he can trump ALL of our civil rights because he knows what’s best for “we the people”.

Operation Fast and Furious was approved at the highest levels of the Obama Administration so that Holder could make a case for stricter gun control in the United States. In fact, the ATF has already ordered border date gun dealers to keep track of muliple sales of long guns, through an illegal system of record keeping, in violation of U.S. law.

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans seem to care and are ignoring the issue.  God help us all.

Wake up America. BEFORE it’s too late…

The Constitution shall never be construed … to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. – Samuel Adams
