Bloomberg Uses Tragedy to Advocate Disarming Law Abiding Americans

In the wake of a mass shooting in a suburban Denver movie theater, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the poster boy for gun bans in America.  is calling on President Obama and Mitt Romney to offer up more than “soothing words” and talk about how they will address gun-related violence. 

“Maybe it’s time that the two people who want to be president of the United States stand up and tell us what they are going to do about it, because this is obviously a problem across the country.” Bloomberg said in an interview on WOR News Talk Radio 710 in New York City.

I agree.  Both Obama and Romney should be encouraging responsible, law abiding citizens to purchase firearms, train with them, and acquire a concealed carry license/permit in one of the 41 states that have “shall issue” or Constitutional carry laws.  The other nine states should be strongly encouraged to pass “shall issue” concealed carry laws or risk losing federal funding for transportation and education. 

Cinemark Theaters are “GUN FREE ZONES” .  Dan Meyers who works at Cinemark corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas confirmed in a 2009 email, “that only police officers could carry concealed weapons into Cinemark theaters.” Cinemark has a GUN FREE ZONE national policy and legally armed patrons have been turned away from both Cinemark and AMC theaters. 

Film critic Roger Ebert rushed to condemn concealed carry laws saying they don’t work because, “not a single person in the Aurora, Colorado theater shot back.”  Well, Roger, that’s because law abiding citizens follow the law and criminals break the law.  If just 10% of the patrons had been legally carrying a concealed firearm, more lives would have been saved and fewer patrons would have been wounded.

Bloomberg who is an outspoken national gun-control vigilante, co-chairs the organization Mayors Against Illegal Guns and is big part of the “Second Chance on Shoot First” campaign. He is always the first politician to take advantage of high-profile, tragic shooting events to advocate a civilian gun ban and government confiscation of firearms.

Bloomberg is also a billionaire, whose entire family has armed personal security when they go out in public. Bloomberg is now protected by the NYPD but he had personal security before being elected Mayor of New York city.  It’s easy for the ruling class elite to call for gun control.  They will continue to be protected by professional security agents after your guns are confiscated by the government. 

Some former government officials not only have full time security details but many are able to have their security agents deputized as United States Marshals, which former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, a NYC resident has done for almost 40 years.

If more citizens obtain conceal carry permits and take seriously the responsibly to protect themselves and their loved ones, this nation will be a much safer place.  Cops and criminals will always have guns.  Citizens could lose this right (it happened after the Civil War).  Like a muscle, a right not exercised will atrophy and eventually go away.

I can’t say it too many times, LEGALLY ARM YOURSELVES CITIZENS. The police can’t protect you 24/7/365. You can’t carry a cop with you but you can legally carry a gun in at least 41 states.  Get your CHL, practice with your firearm an enroll in advanced firearms training courses.  Take responsibility for your family’s safety.

Don’t enter GUN FREE ZONES unless they have sufficient police officers on duty at all times throughout the premises.  GUN FREE ZONES, including schools are by far the most dangerous places for law abiding citizens.

If a few Samuel Williams, the senior, who thwarted the armed robbery attempt at the Internet Cafe in Florida earlier this week had been in the theater,  the casualty count most certainly would have been less. The media will focus on this Aurora shooting for years.  But I’m sure you didn’t know about a worshipper at an Aurora church who stopped a shooting in April. Of course not, the media didn’t cover it. In that shooting the bad guy was only able to shoot and kill one person before a legally armed hero took him out.  

Gun Owners of America keeps track of guns saving lives.  Guns save as many as 80 lives for every one that is tragically taken.

I agree that Obama, Romney and Bloomberg should be doing something to protect Americans from gun violence.  Publicly support the three primary goals of the Wisconsin-based human-rights group Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO):

Destroy so-called “gun control” (code words for disarming innocent people).

Expose the misguided notions that lead people to seek out so-called “gun control”.

Encourage Americans to understand and defend all of the Bill of Rights for all citizens. The Second Amendment is the “Guardian” of the Bill of Rights.
